If there is anything civil engineering and project management alumnus Mohamed Niagne is passionate about, it is support structures 鈥� in engineering, and especially in relationships. As the graduate student commencement speaker for the fall Class of 2024, Niagne hopes to convey the importance of those support structures, which led him from the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program at UAA to his current position at the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.
鈥楤y Alaskans, for Alaskans鈥�: UAA launches the state鈥檚 first graduate program in school psychology
Alaska is facing a youth mental health crisis 鈥� a situation exacerbated by the lack of services available. In response to this urgent need, UAA will launch the state鈥檚 first Master of Science in School Psychology program in fall 2025. Program director Harvey has garnered substantial financial backing, including a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education鈥檚 Office of Special Education. Read more.
