On the frontlines
UAA alumna Greer Gehler graduated from UAA鈥檚 School of Nursing with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in nursing science in December 2018. It鈥檚 been an exciting two years from landing her dream job in Providence Alaska Medical Center鈥檚 emergency room to providing care during COVID-19.
Looking down the road
How integral is Providence to Alaska? Not only does the hospital make up the second half of the namesake UMED District, but the organization is the largest non-government employer in the state, naturally resulting in the employment of a large number of UAA nursing and surgical technology alumni.
Alumni of Distinction: Angelia Trujillo
Angelia Trujillo, associate professor in the School of Nursing, has been awarded the UAA Alumni Humanitarian Award for her outstanding contributions to the field of nursing and to Alaska鈥檚 communities. Trujillo earned her M.S. in Nursing Science from UAA in 2004, and her B.S. in Nursing Science here in 1997.
