On June 30, the Alaska Black Caucus held the Covid & Beyond: Black Health & Wellness Town Hall at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at the 花季传媒. Amana Mbise, Ph.D., an assistant professor with the School of Social Work under the College of Health, presented eye-opening findings from the first-ever Black Alaskans Health Status report.
Angelia Trujillo, associate professor in the School of Nursing, has been selected as an honoree for the Celebrating Nurses Awards. The award recognizes registered nurses and nurse practitioners in Alaska who have made a positive impact in the lives of patients, families, and communities in 2021.
Former School of Nursing director Tina DeLapp receives a Meritorious Service Award from Chancellor Parnell and Provost Runge.
Ruby Fried, assistant professor of Health Science within the Institute for Circumpolar Health Studies of the UAA Div. of Population Health Sciences, helped host the Regional Food Security and Climate Change Adaptation Symposium with the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association from April 12 to 14, 2022.
