UAA joins the community in celebrating diversity
UAA鈥檚 College of Health participated in Juneteenth and Pride events this June. Hundreds of families and friends gathered to enjoy live music and explore booths from local businesses and artists. Rose Shoulders is the Student Recruitment Specialist for the College of Health. 鈥淚t was great to see the community, to see that collaboration, to see everybody finding their families within each other at these events-that's what it is about.鈥�

UAA dental hygiene students step up to serve Alaskans in need
The Remote Area Medical (RAM) nonprofit clinic recently made its first visit to Alaska, setting up pop-up clinics in Anchorage and Fairbanks to provide free dental, vision, and medical services to those in need. However, RAM faced a challenge when it came to staffing the clinics with dental hygiene volunteers.
WWAMI students prepare for rural underserved opportunities with skills workshop
As summer approaches, many of Alaska WWAMI first year medical students (MS1s) are participating in skills labs as they gear up for their Rural Underserved Opportunities Program (RUOP) placements in different parts of Alaska.
